Creative Process:
For the German outdoor brand Jack Wolfskin, the product design ranged from lifestyle-driven technical equipment for everyday use and travel to cycling-specific gear including bikepacking, as well as functional products for kids.
Developed under the leadership of the creative director, the work was defined by close collaboration with product management, development, and technical teams, ensuring that every product reflected the brand’s philosophy while meeting diverse performance needs.
The process began with trend and market research, translated into mood boards, seasonal color palettes, and trim concepts that aligned with the brand’s evolving identity. Innovation concepts and new product ideas were introduced alongside strategic redesigns of existing ranges, with presentations delivered to cross-functional teams to align on design direction. Concepts were implemented into market-ready products through iterative prototype assessment with the technical and product management teams, supported by PLM data entry to ensure smooth handover into production. The result was a cohesive portfolio of equipment that balanced technical performance with lifestyle appeal, offering elevated, design-led solutions for both everyday adventures and specialized outdoor needs.
