LokaLive is a mobile-first product concept focused on connecting communities through local events and shared experiences.
Research has shown that users often feel overwhelmed by generic listings, fragmented platforms, and unclear value when deciding whether an event is “worth their time.” From a product perspective, the core challenge became not a lack of events, but a lack of relevant discovery.
The project was framed around a clear product problem statement: How might we help people quickly find events that match their interests, availability, and social context—while lowering the barrier to participation? Research and personas helped define key jobs-to-be-done, such as discovering nearby events effortlessly, understanding social value at a glance, and making quick go/no-go decisions.
Product decisions shaped the UX throughout the project: prioritizing relevance over volume, designing filters that support intent without cognitive overload, and structuring event detail pages to surface the most decision-critical information first. User flows were optimized for speed and clarity, with a strong focus on first-time user experience and repeat engagement. Trade-offs between feature richness and simplicity were intentional, keeping the MVP focused on discovery, trust, and ease of use.
The resulting UI system supports these product goals with a bold but functional visual language, ensuring accessibility and consistency across key touchpoints, aligning user needs, business goals, and product constraints by building a digital product that translates into meaningful real-world experiences.
