Project Overview


For the German outdoor brand Jack Wolfskin, the work focused on designing technical equipment spanning everyday lifestyle use, travel, cycling and bikepacking, as well as functional products for kids. The portfolio balanced performance-driven design with versatility, supporting both urban use and outdoor adventure.

Developed under the leadership of the Creative Director, the work was shaped by close collaboration with product management, development, and technical teams, ensuring that each product aligned with the brand’s philosophy while meeting functional requirements.


Scope of Work


The creative process covered the full cycle from concept to execution:


  • Trend & Market Research: Conducted research to inform market trends.


  • Concept & Design: Developed mood boards, seasonal color palettes, trim concepts, and new product ideas. Created technical drawings, including multiple product views and detailed construction layouts to clearly define form, function, and intent.


  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Presented concepts and design updates of running styles to senior leadership, aligning creative vision with strategy, cost, and feasibility.


  • Development & Production Handover: Prepared complete tech packs, detailed construction specifications, and colorways. Consolidated materials and trims into BOMs to ensure consistency and efficiency across styles. Supported prototype rounds and PLM data entry to ensure smooth transition into production.

Outcome


The result was a cohesive equipment portfolio that blends technical performance with lifestyle-driven design. From everyday essentials to specialized outdoor and cycling gear, the final products deliver functional solutions that reflect Jack Wolfskin’s brand values while meeting performance demands.
